Fig otter

One of the most typical products of the Marche is undoubtedly the fig ottezetta. Of peasant tradition, it is a tasty and nutritious sweet of the province of Ancona that from the first taste takes us back to the flavors of the past. A natural product that is made according to the most ancient and iron dictates of tradition. The fig ottezetta is obtained by grinding together dried figs, with small pieces of walnut, almonds, star anise seeds and adding anise liqueur. The dough is worked until it is the shape of a loin and then wrapped in the fig leaves tied just like a sausage.

Once cut, the product shows a golden-brown color with light nuts inserts inside the dough. Thanks to its unique and unmistakable flavor, the fig ottet finds various applications. It can be eaten as it is, alone, accompanied with a glass of sweet wine, or you can try it with a soft and medium-aged cheese, or with our cheeses such as walnut leaves and straw and hay.

Weight: 200-300 g

Ingredients: figs, nuts, raisins, aniseed and rum.

Storage: to be consumed preferably by the date indicated in the product.
